I am Claude Lambert (MD, PhD), working in an Immunology lab in University Hospital of St Etienne in France. My main interest is the multiparameter analysis of cell populations (cell sociology), specifically in cognate immune response (all T cell types). I considerer the immune system is a highly complex system, in dynamic relationships with its environment. The large spectrum of the body protection depends on the diversity and plasticity of the system. Cytometry is the only tool able to approach the analysis of this complexity. I am mainly using flow but I also use image and computing approaches. Programme as an elected ESCCA Board Member: I shall be happy to work actively for the ESCCA. I believe Europe is a great place where we need to collaborate more and more. We have great experts enough to develop this group across Europe. Cytometry societies are a bit heterogeneous but people interested in cell have great advantages to discuss outside their own biological field. National societies are necessary to promote Cytometry and create network. Until November 2009, I am an elected member of the French society of Cytometry board (AFC). I am in charge of the financial affaires. For the same reasons, I also organize a regional meeting every year for 10 years. These local and national societies are necessary. ESCCA should be the complementary link between them, opening networks to a larger dimension and strengthen the European force. |
